1) Williamsburg: Lady Strongbuzz has the inside PR tip on a new tapas joint called Bar Celona at 118 S. 4th Street from former fashion consultant Cynthia Diaz, Chef Jordy Lavanderos (formerly of Secretes), and barmen Tad Carducci and Paul Tanguay of The Tippling Brothers. Here's an early peek at the menu: "Jordy’s menu will feature Spanish and Latin-accented tapas like Stuffed Piquillo Peppers with Goat Cheese and Herbs over a Spicy Tomato Sauce, Scallop Ceviche with Fresh Cilantro and Pickled Red Onions, Mushroom & Morcilla Tostones with Shallot Confit on Parsley Oil." 2) West Village: Blogger Wined and Dined reports that California pizza chain Zpizza will soon be opening a NYC location in the West Village, although exact location is still undetermined. They write: "Zpizza has been called the Baja Fresh or Panera Bread of pizza. It’s known for its 100% certified organic tomato sauce, 100% certified organic wheat flour, Wisconsin low-fat mozzarella and its choices of unique natural toppings, including MSG-free pepperoni and additive-free chicken cilantro sausage." 3) Red Hook: Gothamist shares a barrage of photos and info on new activity/plywood vets over on Van Brunt Street in Red Hook. At 219 Van Brunt, where StumpTown/Frankie's was rumored to be going in, the cafe will now be called Delightful Coffee Shop and hopes to open in the Spring. At 351 Van Brunt, as Slice once reported, Anselmo's Coal-Oven Pizza readies to open: "As of Feb. 6,2009 we are ready to open. Waiting on inspectors now. We are close for the test oven day. We are getting a lot of attention from the media about our coal brick oven pizza.” At 365 Van Brunt, a shot of the space where applicant Radio Free Red Hook applied for a liquor license in Dec.
