LITTLE ITALY— Urban Daddy reports that My Little Secret, an Italian inspired speakeasy in the heart of Little Italy, will open this Thursday. According to the Daddy, MLS is owned by Baby John Delutro, the so called "cannoli king", and they describe the space as "a wine cellar complete with low ceilings, red candles and cut-off wine barrels lining the wall." To really bring the Italian theme home and keep things classy, they have installed a frosted glass etched with a Tommy gun. Don't forget about the Godfather poster, either. MLS will offer a menu of small plates (lobster sliders and risotto balls) along with a fully stocked bar serving drinks until 4AM. No word if the cast of Jersey Shore has been invited to the opening festivities, but one can dream. [UD]
CHELSEA— From the tipline: "Didn't snap a photo of this, unfortunately, but a place on 9th Ave. and 18th St, C & L Restaurant and Bar was seized by the government over the weekend for tax evasion. They had the orange seizure stickers on their shutter. This is a restaurant of no distinction." [EaterWire]
WEST VILLAGE— To celebrate the anniversary of the repeal of Prohibition, Employees Only will serve a menu of special cocktails (featuring Employees Only brand cordials) and chef Julia Jaksic will be serving up coffin cake desserts. The special menu, $14-15 per drink, runs until this Sunday. [EaterWire]
