The Onion's AV Club decided to test out some door policies at New York clubs, sending NY Barfly's James Mulcahy to discover what should have been obvious; some doors are impossible and some are too easy. But Mulcahy reports that the Gates "turns rejection into a different art form: extortion. Instead of shooing tipsy partiers away, the bouncer used a different tactic. He explained to a group of four (two girls, two guys) that the girls were fine for entry, but the guys would each have to pay a $150 bar minimum." That is probably only 7 drinks, which isn't that bad of a deal if you think about it. Wait, yes it is. Perhaps its time to update our own Door Report before the year ends.
