Winebar Expands; Walter Foods Launches Lunch, Burger Deal

EAST VILLAGE— Following in the footsteps of Chelsea's Socarrat and The Lower East Side's Kampuchea, popular East Village lady-date spot Winebar is taking over the Cremcaffe space directly next door for a new expansion project. It will be similar to Winebar but will have a full menu. Nothing major has been done yet, so don't expect anything until 2010. [EaterWire]

EAST VILLAGE— PDT's Jim Meehan is hawking his own custom made line of bartender bags. They run $660 a pop and include all kinds of cute journals and knives, ice picks, and various other bar weapons. [Metromix]

WILLIAMSBURG— Williamsburg restaurant Walter Foods is now open for lunch on weekdays from noon - 4:30 PM, serving a full raw bar, fried chicken, lobster rolls, and Reubens. They've also added a separate, late afternoon menu between 4:30 - 5:30, and between noon and 7:30 a beer and a burger is $15. [EaterWire]
