Welcome to the weekly Shutter. Know of any other restaurant that has met its demise? Let us know.

2009_12_dubpies.jpg1) Rockaways: Grub Street reports that the Rockaway Lobster House, a mostly summertime destination with excellent views of Jamaica Bay, has closed and is for sale. [GS]

2) Columbia Street Waterfront: Brownstoner brings word that Australian meat pie shop DUB Pies is closing its original location on 193 Columbia Street. According to their website, they were hurt by the down economy and are looking for a busier storefront. The pie mini-chain's production space in Red Hook and its store in Windsor Terrace will remain open. [Brownstoner]

3) Red Hook: Dan Preston, the owner of Brooklyn restaurant Botanica tells Fork in the Road that they are temporarily closed and will reopen after restaffing. One of their managers sent around angry emails about the owner and the restaurant to the blogs and Facebook. She has now been fired for that and for "stealing alcohol and putting well liquor in top shelf bottles." [FitR]

4) East Hampton: Matto, an Italian spot that opened this spring on East Hampton, won't be reopening next season. [GS via Curbed Hamptons]
