Though Ravi DeRossi, East Village kingpin and an owner of Mayahuel, Death & Co., and the Bourgeois Pig, applied for a liquor license for a Cuban restaurant called Cienfuegos at 95 Avenue A a couple of months ago, Grub Street reports today that he'll actually be using the name for a Cuban sandwich shop right next door at 443 East 6th St. He'll also be opening a second-floor rum lounge before moving forward with the long dormant ground floor of the Avenue A space.
