Sevigny and Nur Khan's Civetta Revamp Is a Go For Jan 2010

New, 2 comments

Last month's rumored shuttering of Sfoglia's downtown sister Civetta—which now seems to be confirmed on MenuPages and OpenTable—was both surprising and swift. One day, they were serving Italian cuisine, and the next day it was destined to be the next Beatrice Inn. As upsetting as the news was to the unsuspecting staff of Civetta, most of whom were laid off, the leak also caught the new clubland proprietors completely off guard. A tipster reports that Nur Khan was particularly pissed, fearful that the story would spiral out of control before they had all of their ducks in a row. But as of today, sources reveal it's all systems go for Nur, Paul Sevigny et al in the space, which we're hearing will still be a restaurant and will by no means be the second coming of the Bea. Sigh. The revamp will take place over the next six to eight weeks, and the new proprietors are hoping to be up and running by mid to late January 2010.
