Yesterday, Governor David Patterson accepted the New York State Law Revision Commission's Report on the State Liquor Authority and New York's Alcohol Beverage Control Law's, citing the great progress that the SLA has made since appointing Dennis Rosen as chairman. Among other reforms that the SLA will be seeking, the Gov also wants the SLA to get through those liquor license applications that have piled up on their desks and, calling on the agency to work through the backlog by October 2010. Wait. October is ten months from now! How hard can that be? April 2010 would be a real goal, but applicants will have to take what they can get.
