Last February, the Dept. of Health, announced plans to enact a grading system for the city's 25,000 restaurants, much like the system in Los Angeles. After an inspection, restaurants must post their grades in the windows for all to see, whether it's an A or a C. Almost a year after the announcement, the DOH is finally ready to move forward, scheduling a public hearing on the plan in February. [Diner's Journal; previously]
