EAST VILLAGEBarrell Bar Cafe, the new, pretty cool looking tapas bar from the team behind pastry shop Panya opens tonight on Stuyvesant St. They serve tapas from $6 - 11 and rice and noodles and entrees from $15 - 22. [EaterWire]

DOH CHRONICLES—Yesterday Midtown Lunch discovered part of the new New York City Health Code prohibited the sale of seafood of any kind. Unsurprisingly, people got pretty upset about the development, given there are so many tasty fried fish sandwiches served on the streets of New York. Well, the DOH reveals today it was a big whoopsie. They will not be enforcing the amendment. [Diner's Journal]
