2) Lower East Side: Eater's LES correspondent gets a current shot of Mikey's, Michael Huynh's burger spot in the old Rush Hour space. The latest report reveals it will open this weekend, with perhaps a soft opening on Thursday or Friday. [PLYWOOD]

4) Tribeca: According to the Cuozz, Zagat, and a press release, Flatiron's Tamarind is expanding into an 11,000 square foot space in Tribeca at 99 Hudson. It takes up two floors, has floor to ceiling windows, and will seat 175 persons in the two-level restaurant. [PLYWOOD]

5) Greenpoint: NY Shitty brings word that Cody Utzman, owner of Greenpoint burrito joint Papacito's is opening a wine bar called Cafe Royalle on 195 Nassau. He hopes to open it in two months. [PLYWOOD]

6) Park Slope: Brownstoner brings word that two storefronts next to Willie's Dawgs on 5th Ave in Park Slope will open as restaurants. One is going to be an Italian spot called Prego's and another looks to be a banh mi joint. [PLYWOOD]

7) Midtown: MIdtown Lunch and the BCD real estate firm announce that Five Guys is planning on opening a new 2,400 square foot space on 48th between 5th and 6th Avenue. It will be the fifth Five Guys location in Midtown.

8) Midtown: Midtown Lunch reports that Oaxaca (Wa Ha Ka) Mexican Grill is coming soon to 47th Street between Park and Lex. [PLYWOOD]

9) Fort Greene: According to an email from the restaurant and an announcement on their website, the Brooklyn vegetarian restaurant Red Bamboo will reopen as an American restaurant (with meat!): "Aiming to meet the demand for a comfort foods spot in the neighborhood, Poppa's will serve neo-American cuisine and will retain some of Red Bamboo's signature dishes." 10) Chinatown: Grub Street learns that Paris Sandwich, a three year-old banh mi joint, is expanding. They will open their new space on Grand and Elizabeth on Thursday. [PLYWOOD]
