Soda Shop's Sad/Creative Teary Shutter Signage

A tipster brought word this morning that Soda Shop, a four year old mock-vintage soda fountain on Chambers near Broadway closed this week, and Broadsheet Daily has pics of the sad shutter signage to prove it. The hand written sign on a doily in the window thanks customers for their four years of patronage, saying "We hope that we served you well, brought back some memories and created some new ones." It can be assumed the impromptu and colorful Post-It goodbye comes from an unhappy regular.

The owner offered no reason for the closure, but a neighboring business owner blamed the economic difficulty of Chambers Street.
