Pink Elephant Is Dead: Long Live Pink Elephant

New, 1 comment

The long running battle over the Pink Elephant brand name finally came to an end over the weekend. The Daily News reports that Joey Morrisey, the current proprietor of the 27th Street club, gave up his legal battle for the name Pink Elephant with the former owners of the club, and has rechristened the place Pink. Not the most original name, but expectations were low for the person who renamed Mansion as M2. Morrisey will also try to open a Pink in Southhampton this summer in the former Elephant space. Of course, this is playing out as predicted, and fans of the original Pink Elephant can pump their arms in anticipation of an Elephant rebirth in the former Room Service space on 21st Street in the coming months. The new Pink Elephant will involve the original owners David Sarner and Bobby Montwaid, and of course will feature the house music and sparklers that its fans demand. Hands up!
