Louis 649 Gets Food; MaryAnn's Taking Yaffa's Space

EAST VILLAGE— Very cool East Village drinking (and onetime jazz) den Louis 649 will start serving a full menu for the first time in five years. Since they still don't have the luxury of a real kitchen, they're letting local purveyors curate menu items, including herring from Russ & Daughters, pickles from Rick’s Picks, charcuterie from The Bklyn Larder, Washugyu beef sashimi from Japan Premium Beef, cheese from Saxelby Cheese Mongers, empanadas from Barnyard, and chocolate from Nunu Chocolates. TRIBECA— The Tribeca Trib reports that Mary Ann's is taking over the old Yaffa's Cafe and Tea Room down on Greenwich and Harrison. MaryAnn's is losing its location on Reade and West Broadway due to a new development. [TT]
