1) East Village: Above, a new shot of the new sake bar Kanoyama is planning next to their sushi restaurant on 2nd Avenue and 11th St. They're going for a dark wooded exterior. [PLYWOOD]

2) Lower East Side: A quick peek into Michael Huynh's upcoming LES burger shop Baoger reveals it won't be done as quickly as he first suspected—he predicted last month that it would be open by now. Work is being done, and Huynh is keeping the space tightly plywooded, but she's not close. [PLYWOOD]

3) East Village: An operative notices that the space of Ishikura, the shuttered sushi restaurant on 4th and 1st Avenue, has received a new blue and yellow paint job, and signage reveals "Guayoyo" is coming soon. Fork in the Road suspects this is a Venezuelan coffee shop. [PLYWOOD]

4) East Village: EV Grieve reports that PJ Hanley's, a Carroll Gardens bar that is said to be the oldest in Brooklyn, is opening a branch on 1st Avenue between East 7th and St Mark's. Some are upset that it is not going to become a jazz cafe as previously thought. [PLYWOOD]

5) Union Square: Roving photographer Will Femia notices a branch of Hale & Hearty Soup is coming to 17th between 5th and Union Square. [PLYWOOD]

6) Greenpoint: Slice brings word that Vinnie's Pizzeria, the vegan and vegetarian spot on Bedford Ave., is opening a new location up in Greenpoint. [PLYWOOD]

7) Noho: Fork in the Road learns that the 12th branch of Subway is coming to the East Village/Noho area. The chain is taking over the old Downtown Music Gallery space on 342 Bowery. [PLYWOOD]

8) Brooklyn Heights: Fork in the Road reports that the old River Deli space will soon be home to an Italian wine bar: "...there's still a lot of work to be done on the space. But once it's opened, it will almost certainly be a boon for this part of the neighborhood, which, despite its boutique feel and relatively affluent population, is marked by a dearth of dining options." [PLYWOOD]
