Butcher Bay and Dovetail Close for Renovations

Today EV Grieve notices a curious scene at Butcher Bay, Jason Hennings, Bob Giraldi, and Adam Cohn's seafood shack on East 5th Street—covered windows and a hand written sign saying, "Butcher Bay closed temporarily to write our memoirs." The space has a history of closing for long renos—as it did when it transformed from Seymour Burton to Butcher Bay—and Cohn reports it is by no means closed for good. After redecorating, they're taking another run at it. "We'll be back," he says.

Meanwhile, Dovetail is closing today for a scheduled expansion. When they reopen on Friday, there will be a new bar area and additional seating.
