The Scariest Subway Ever; Nevada Smith's to go National

FIDI— In one of the weirder Subway stories in recent memory, the sandwich chain is going to be attached to a crane currently building the Freedom Tower downtown, so construction workers won't have to descend the tower or bring their own food. As the tower grows, the subway branch will go up with it. No word on whether the sandwich artists working the crane get a wage bump. [NYP]

EAST VILLAGE— EV Grieve discovers that the owner of Nevada Smith's, the East Village sports bar, doesn't plan on staying in the same location for long. However, a group of investors want to bring the bar national. [EVG]
