The Brooklyn blogs (and cocktail blogs) are abuzz today with news of last night's soft opening of Henry Public, the new bar from the owners of Carroll Gardens' Brooklyn Social. Like most bars and restos these days, Henry Public has an antiquey vibe, with framed old letters and documents on the walls, old books in the bookshelves, and collection of paraphernalia evoking an earlier age. Also: fireplace.
On the menu, they have both old fashioned and reinvented cocktails and retro food offerings like turkey leg sandwiches, "hamburger sandwiches," egg creams, marrow bones, and oysters. She opens to the public tonight.
