Community Board 2's November agenda is out, revealing that there are some exciting new projects in the hopper. The Grand Street Hotel is going up for the umpteenth time, as is Todd English's Oliver Todd, The Standard wants even more liquor licenses, Matthew Isaacs (ex Lotus) and Justin McManus are going for the Country Club space, and a restaurant called Cinq & Sept is hoping to open in the Ama space.
But that's all nothing compared to this: Il Buco is opening a second restaurant on 52 Great Jones Street.
The agenda calls the space Il Buco Alimentari/Vineria, but don't be fooled into thinking this is a little wine shop. A reservationist at the restaurant reveals it will be a full blown restaurant, like the original "but much bigger." The owners haven't revealed much to the staff, as it's in the beginning stages, but excitement nevertheless!
In other expansion news, Flex Mussels is opening yet another disastrously named restaurant. Their new spot, Mussel Madness, will be located on 154 West 13th St. in the old Sumile space. Hear more about these restaurants and about a dozen more after the meeting on November 10.
Correction: Mussel Madness is Flex Mussel's LLC name, not the name of their new enterprise. Sadface.
