Breslin Opts for Trees Instead of Curtain to Appease Mosque

New, 6 comments

In an Observer piece yesterday about a tiff between The Breslin and a mosque across the street, Ace Hotel developer Andrew Zobler reported that "out of neighborliness and respect," they voluntarily agreed to cover the windows of the restaurant with a curtain to appease those offended by alcohol consumption. Well a visit to the restaurant today reveals no such curtain, but instead, a group of small trees. While it does improve on the aesthetics of the exterior, the diminutive size of the trees in question can be easily interpreted as an eff you of sorts to the neighbors.

In other Breslin news, the first insta-review is up over at Gotham Gal. There are a few hits, a few misses, and plenty of offal.
