Tipsy Parson may be the big opening of the week in Chelsea, the Breslin will dominate WholeDi, and Brinkley's, Soho. But uptowners may want to take a gander at what's going on over at Le Caprice. The sceney London import makes its big debut in New York today with some big expectations and pretensions in tow. Owned by Richard Caring, the man behind Le Caprice in London and the Soho House on both sides of the pond and an owner of McNally's Pulino's, the $7 million restaurant hopes to appeal to the city's upper crust, bold names, and guests of the newly remodeled Pierre Hotel. As Caring said said to Flo Fab during fall preview season, "If they [his American clientele] are loyal, they will get tables. Mr. Caring plans to hold back several each night. 'I want buzz,' he said." Like it's sister, the decor is all in black and white, with a large collection of photographs by David Bailey. Le Caprice is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Download the menus on the official site.
