More from the expanding world of Artichoke. It seems that part of the delay in expanding across Manhattan was trouble finding the right partners, but this has been scratched off the To Do List. Artichoke's owners Tony Basille and Francis Garcia have teamed up with the nightlife duo of Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss to finance and co-develop the first ever Artichoke Pizza and Bar.
In addition to the 80 seat restaurant, this new fearsome foursome will convert a defunct flower shop that is part of the same building into a Artichoke slice and take out joint for customers craving the gooey goodness on the go. The slice shop will have its own kitchen and operate separately from the restaurant, and will be open from noon until late. Tepperberg described the project as being "like Patsy's, but chic", and stressed that while they will be seeking a full liquor license, this is strictly a restaurant and not a club. If the restaurant is a success, don't be surprised to discover an Artichoke location coming to town near you in the near future. But let's not put the cart before the horse here.
