BruniBetting: Cabrito

New, 16 comments

Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Cabrito, the goat capital of Carmine Street. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:

Zero Stars: 4-1
One Star: 2-1 ??
Two Stars: 5-1
Three Stars: 500-1
Four Stars: 20,000-1
Why oh why is Mr. Frank the Tank Bruni reviewing Zak Pelaccio's nine month-old goat-centric Mexican spot Cabrito? Perhaps he's trying to counter last week's extravagance at Daniel. Or there's an off chance the hook here is Pelaccionator's other upcoming endeavors, Fatty Crab 2 (UWS) and Fatty Cue (Williamsburg). Whatever his reasons, we don't see the Brunz giving either a two or a goose egg to the big Cab. The advertising on Facebook and Taxi TV and the fact that no other reviewer has deemed the place worthy of ink yet (save the Sietsema, who liked it ok) makes us shy away from the deuce. On the other hand, we don't doubt chef David Schuttenberg can put out some decent Mexican. (Plus, it would be unnecessarily cruel to hit it up with a zero out of the blue.) Therefore, our money's on the one. You know the odds. Book it.
