The Shutter: Two Cipriani Joints Felled

New, 12 comments

West Village: The Post reports that as long as Giuseppe Cipriani is still MIA, Socialista will not reopen:

"...it was raided and closed down by Health Department inspectors, who found cigarette butts on the floor and a puddle under the sink. 'It wasn't anything major,' said an insider. 'Armin went that Monday to pay the fine and reopen, but they said, 'Where's Giuseppe Cipriani? He's on the liquor license. He has to be here.'"

Meanwhile the Cipriani family's 23rd St. event space in the International Toy Building closed over the weekend, per an agreement reached by the Cips and the landlord last summer. These recent shutters of course come on top of the Rainbow Room Grill shutter, the Rainbow Room ousting, the credit problems, the SLA controversy, liquor license woes, and the multiple arrests for the family.
