Madaleine Mae wasn't the only restaurant to serve its last this week. Here are four more closings from this week, and if you know of any more, do tell.
1) West Village: A tipster notifies us and a call to the restaurant confirms: neighborhood joint Deborah in the West Village will close after service on Sunday night. [ShutterWire]
2) Midtown: Midtown Lunch reports sad news from a 7th Ave. mainstay: "...Sahara Grill, the small Turkish take out place on 7th Ave. and 40th Street, has closed. Known for its doner kebab and falafel, the Sahara Grill is a place that you may not have eaten at- but you’ve definitely walked by. It will be missed by many." [ML]
3) Hell's Kitchen: Meanwhile, in Hell's Kitchen, EV Grieve discovers España en Llamas is no more: "I liked this place. Last time I was there, a drunken fellow tried to pick a fight with me for no reason. A few beers later, he had his arm around me. Friends, for no reason." [EV Grieve]
4) Kensington: Kensington, Brooklyn brings some sad shutter news of its own: "...the space occupied by Maki Sushi on Fort Hamilton Parkway is now for rent. This, sadly, will make for one fewer food option in the neighborhood. So, other than Sushi Sushi in Windsor Terrace, what Sushi options are left to the folks of Kensington?" [KB]
