EaterWire Midday Edition: Black Iron Burger Shop Latest Break-In Victim

East Village: Late last night or early this morning Jason Henning's Black Iron Burger Shop joined Delicatessen, Fiamma (RIP), and Perilla as a victim of the restaurant crime spree that has been sweeping downtown New York in recent months. According to a worker at the restaurant, someone broke into the restaurant during the wee hours of the night but, luckily, did not succeed in getting away with any cash. No one was hurt, the restaurant is open for business as usual, and the police are apparently on the case. Is this yet another byproduct of the recession that restaurateurs have to worry about?
