EaterWire: Celeb-Chef-Studded Charity Event, John DeLucie on The Charles, and More

CHARITY EVENTS— Just about every chef you ever heard of will be cooking at the upcoming Autism benefit Autism Speaks on October 1. That's why tickets are a whopping $1,500. A few stand outs: Tom Colicchio, Sam Mason, Joey Campanaro, Harold Dieterle, Wylie Dufresne, Marc Vetri, Michael Psilakis, and oh about 50 more. At the sit down dinner each chef has one table for which he or she will cook a four course meal. For ticket info contact Beth Irving at Eirving@autismspeaks.org [EaterWire]

WEST VILLAGE— Grub Street talks to Waverly Inn's John DeLucie and pries out some minor tidbits on his new consulting gig at The Charles: it will have 60 seats, a good wine and cocktail list, the menu will be "heavy on the fish and olive oil," and he expects a lot of fashionistas and celebs to be regulars. EAST VILLAGEOutstanding in the Field, a roving "restaurant" that holds dinners at farms across the country is, strangely enough, holding events in Queens and the East Village, and there are some tickets left: "This week we are in NY for two wonderful events: Wednesday, September 10th at Queens Farm in Queens with Chef Caroline Fidanza from Brooklyn's Diner, Friday, September 12th at La Plaza Community Garden in the East Village of Manhattan with Chef Alejandro Alcocer from Brown.
