The Plywood Report: Pinche Taqueria, The Charles, The Bell House, and More!

New, 3 comments

1) Noho: As reported here in June, Pinche Taqueria is opening a second location on Lafayette and Bleecker. A correspondent stopped by earlier this week: "Looks almost ready to go. When I went to grab a shot of the interior, I ran into the owner, who asked me if I was 'ready for the Pinche Taqueria experience???' Fear. I asked when he expected to open and he said they'd be up and running, complete with a take-out window, in a week." According to Grub St. they have a liquor license and will be open from 7 a.m. - 4 a.m. [PLYWOOD]

2) West Village: A tipster sends us the latest picture from The Charles the new John DeLucie project in the old Le Deux Gamins space on 4th and 10th: "The old Le Deux Gamins space is being reworked into a swanky upscale spot by John Delucie. The new place will open in around 2 weeks. The space looks amazing, will have bar & private dining area." [PLYWOOD]

3) Midtown: Imbible has an update on Midtown's Houndstooth Bar & Grill opening in a 6,800 sq ft space on 37th near 8th Ave: "Today we received word from co-owner Nicholas Cohen, who says, 'We got our license approved and will be open in 3-5 weeks,' and also promised to send us photos..." [PLYWOOD]

4) Gowanus: Gowanus Lounge brings us the latest details, via a press release, of the new 7th St. venue from the owners of Union Hall, The Bell House: "The Bell House, a gorgeous new and unique music venue and lounge, will open its doors on September 18...It was crafted out of an old 1920’s warehouse once used as a printing press, but more recently used as a fly-by-night shipping company...The main space boasts 25 foot wooden arched ceilings, a 450 square foot stage, and unobstructed views from any part of the room." [PLYWOOD]

5) Battery Park City: It looks like the new deli Izzy & Nat's, more details here, is getting closer to opening: "A sign was posted at the former Zen Chinese restaurant location (North End Ave) in Financial District saying that it will become a deli called 'Izzy and Nat'. It looks like it belongs to the same people from Friedman's Delicatessen in Chelsea Market." [PLYWOOD]

6) Park Slope: Gowanus Lounge chimes in with some more plywood, this time of the the less exciting variety: "A tipster emails with word of the new Atomic Wings outpost, noting that 'they are putting an Atomic Wings on 9th Street, b/n 5th and 6th ave in park slope- next to the HSBC, in the space that was formerly a really crappy faux-french pastry shop that consolidated with its sister store, up next to Smiling Pizza.'"
