Floorplan Porn: Michael Huynh's Bar Bao

New, 18 comments

For any restaurant construction freaks, we've obtained the floor plans for Michael Huynh's newest project, Bar Bao. Over the summer Team Huynh has been transforming the monster of a space that was once the Upper West Side's Rain into something they claimed would be entirely new. According to Flo Fab it has been has been redesigned "to evoke a Vietnam that Graham Greene might have recognized." Interesting, though incredibly vague. Here's what we can glean from the floor plans:

It'll have 78 dining room seats, 69 seats in the two lounges and bar, a raw bar, and a private dining room. As for the design flourishes, the plans mention backlit doors, a decorative fireplace, and curtains galore. It remains to be seen whether or not the notoriously flighty Huynh will stick around to see the project through, but according to earlier reports, he says he's ready to settle down.
