EAST VILLAGE— We've been hearing for a couple days about gunshots outside of Boucarou on Monday, and today Grub St. brings us some more details: "...sporadic power outages caused disgruntlement at the (aptly named, it seems) 'Dangerously Sexy' hip-hop party. After last call, the crowd was herded onto the street — there was a disagreement on the sidewalk and shots were fired. According to our source, someone was shot in the leg but declined to press charges." [GS]
NEW YORK— The Post brings word that Gordon Ramsay is planning on opening another NYC restaurant: "Despite getting knocked down by critics when he opened his eponymous restaurant at The London NYC hotel in November 2006, the heavyweight chef is planning to get back in the ring with a more casual gastro-pub. iIn New York, I'm gonna do something a little bit more relaxed in the style of a cafe/bistro,' says Ramsay...It's not because of the credit crunch or holding back. I just love that kind of alternative." [NYP]
CROWN HEIGHTS— Followers have been wondering where Tracy Westmoreland would land ever since he closed his West 40th St. bar Siberia in 2007. Today the Observer discovers it could be Crown Heights: "I'm interested—and this is going to sound crazy—I'm interested in Crown Heights...Williamsburg is fucking over. It's time to break new ground." [NYO via Curbed]
NEW YORK— From now until September 8 diners at all B.R. Guest restaurants (here) will have the chance to round up their bill and give the change to Stand Up to Cancer [EaterWire]
