WEST VILLAGE— We heard rumblings over the weekend that Anne Burrell was out at Centro Vinoteca and a check in with her PR confirms. The famed spikey hair chef, who recently won a Rising Star Chef award and seems to be popping up at events everywhere we look, has parted ways with the restaurant because she's just too damn busy. The official statement:
"Due to her Food Network show, Anne has numerous career commitments and a very busy schedule. Combining that with the restaurant hours, it was very difficult to meet all the commitments, so they have mutually decided to part ways."
She, of course, is also out at Gusto. Apparently all of the award shows, special appearances, and the travails of celeb chefdom were getting in the way of her actual cooking time. Interesting that her show, which has 13 new eps coming up, is called "Secrets of a Restaurant Chef." Her PR won't confirm but hinted that she could have some more shows in the works, and team Centro is not prepared to announce her replacement.
