Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Elizabeth, the new American restaurant in Nolita that is already onto its second chef, Ryan Grant. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:
Zero Stars: 6-1Tomorrow is the annual New York Times dining pages Fall Preview. That element of the paper, mostly penned by Flo Fab, gets the main stage and renders the rest of the section a footnote, really for professional grade readers and those killing time on a delayed F train. With this in mind, perhaps we get somewhere in understanding how a restaurant of zero import—and a brand new chef—has gotten a stage with Frankie Goes to Hollywood. We get all the way to comprehension when we combine this fact with what was most certainly a full court press from Elizabeth's very good PR bingbang, Baltz Co. Motions, engaged: The restaurant is too small for the goose egg, too non-popping for a deuce. Very respectable cooking should draw a nice, at times near-glowing, one star review.
One Star: EVEN ??
Two Stars: 4-1
Three Stars: 15-1
Four Stars: 25,000-1
