The Plywood Report: FIKA, Peaches, Bbap, and More!!

New, 3 comments

1) Upper West Side: Eating in Translation grabs a pic of one of the city's newest fro-yo chains, Peaches, coming soon to 96th and Broadway. [PLYWOOD]

2) Hell's Kitchen: A reader has some news on a new Asian spot in HK, Bbap Asian Rice Bistro: "Wondering if anyone knows anything about Bbap that appears to be opening on 9th Ave and 54th St? It's a tiny space with some green tile-covered igloo looking thing inside." [PLYWOOD]

3) Madison Sq. Park: Some exciting news from Park Ave. South: "A branch of FIKA the Swedish espresso bar (that I think opened in midtown a few years ago to great fanfare t but haven't heard anything about since) is opening on Park Ave South between 28th and 29th, just south of Les Halles. Better than the T-mobile store that used to be there." [PLYWOOD]

4) Cobble Hill: Smith Street is getting a spin off of Williamsburg's Wild Ginger. Per Brownstoner: "Another small step in the gentrification of Smith Street: Beauty parlor out, trendy restaurant in. According to a liquor application (and a sticker a reader spotted in the window), a new 'Pan Asian Vegan' restaurant called Wildginger is slated to open in the storefront at 112 Smith Street formerly occupied by Kendel's Beauty & Barber shop." [PLYWOOD]

5) Upper East Side: A reader reports on some progress on the Leonardo da Vinci space on 82nd and 2nd: "...new plywood on 2nd Ave. Leonardo Da Vinci restaurant closed, but a new one coming in. I think the name is OPUS." [PLYWOOD]

6) Fort Greene: Brownstoner brings word of a new Turkish place coming to Fort Greene: "The former home of My Little India (now a frequent vendor at the Flea) at 96 South Elliott Place in Fort Greene is getting a new tenant: a Turkish restaurant. The sign hanging over the door doesn't exactly scream 'high end' but you never know." [PLYWOOD]
