1) Noho: TONY reports that AvroKO's Double Crown (fka Superior) will finally open this week in the former Mannahatta space. They write: “Chef Brad Farmerie built his name on upmarket Aussie food at Public, but at this newcomer—opening later this week—he focuses on the British influence on Indian and Southeast Asian cuisines. Status: Not Open. Private parties/friends and family this week. Media preview Monday. Opening on Tuesday. 316 Bowery; 212-254-0350. [TONY]

2) East Village: TONY also has the word that Mr. Jones is opening this week. They write: “Chef Bryan Emperor and Lesly Bernard (Tilman’s) offer snacks like bacon-wrapped mochi, to be paired with cocktails by Shin Ikeda of B Flat.” Status: Not Open. Opening "next week," although actual day is TBD. 243 E 14th Street; 212-253-7670. [TONY]

3) Long Island City: A Fine Blog has the lowdown on the opening of Shi, a new Asian fusion resto in Long Island City that has been in soft-open mode for almost a month. As Asian fusion restaurants usually go, a sexy/fun ambiance is generally the goal: “After interviewing one of the three owners today, I asked Shih Lee, if 'sexy, fun' would more or less sum up the atmosphere he was shooting for in the new eatery. He agreed and believed that 'sexy, fun' summed it up. 'Shi' has a little of everything. Its menu is primarily Chinese influenced with some American and Japanese twists, as well as Shi puts it "a kick ass sushi-bar." Status: Certified Open. 4720 Center Blvd., Long Island City; 347-242-2450. [A Fine Blog]
