WILLIAMSBURG— Grand Street blog reports that the Burg's staple vegan spot Foodswings is for sale. A note from the owners: "After 4 & 1/2 years Lee & I have decided that we want to move on & do something else. It is not because Foodswings is failing or anything like that, We're just ready to try something new. We don't want to see Foodswings disappear. We are hoping that someone out there wants to pick up the mantle." [Grand Street]
CORONA— Those of you tired of waiting in line at Shake Shack to get a real custard fix may have a new, albeit farther away, option. Per a letter to the Feed Blog: "Just wondering if you’ve gotten out to Timmy O’s frozen custard at 49-07 104th Street in Corona, Queens...opened some 3 weeks ago (patterned on the famous Midwestern custard stands and indeed run by a guy from the Midwest) and serves luscious frozen custards and concretes in three flavors—vanilla, chocolate and flavor of the day." [The Feed]
WEST VILLAGE—Looks like that cookie delivery market, previously cornered by the student-friendly Insomnia Cookies, might be up for grabs. West Village cookie hub Milk & Cookies just bought a smart car and can now deliver seven days a week in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens. [EaterWire]
