Teary Shutter Signage: El Cid

New, 3 comments

Tiny tapas joint El Cid has been hidden away on 15th Street, between 8th and 9th, for the past 23 years. With Meatpacking and the Highline swanking up every last square inch of the vicinity, not many old timers have the chance to survive. In the big push, El Cid lost its lease and shut down two weeks ago. They hope to move to Williamsburg. Until then, they've posted one of the best teary shutter signs ever, complete with tear-off contact info: "...we have experienced families visiting with their children and to have the same children come back and visit as adults along with their loved ones, it's an indescribable feeling."
