Could we soon be seeing hulking bouncers at the doors of restaurants on the Lower East Side? According to a well-placed tipster, Spitzer’s was busted for underage drinking last week after an undercover informant for the police infiltrated the eatery/bar and was served without being carded. Sources say the management at Spitzer’s was levied a hefty fine, and the bartender was sent packing. A similar situation allegedly happened at 'inoteca over the past week, but we hear no busts were made. “Normally they hit the bars and not restaurants,” a concerned manager of a Lower East Side eatery told Eater. A manager at 'inoteca tells us he heard nothing of the busts, and calls have gone unanswered at Spitzer's.
