File this one under non-breaking. Taking a vacation is incredibly hard for small time restaurateurs. Not only do they lose revenue, they lose face with customers who expect them to be open: "They consider a favorite restaurant an extension of their home. 'They don’t like it when they come home and they can’t get into their house...that's the ultimate bad service.'” [NYT]
