Plywood Coda: Batali & Bastianich's NYC Blue Bottle

West Village: We're hearing that the space Sweetiepie opening on 19 Greenwich Ave. has some big name silent backers. Apparently, the new joint is partially funded by Mario Batali and Joe Bastianich who are modeling it after the cultishly popular Blue Bottle Cafe in San Francisco. Think great coffee, a solid selection of high quality breads, pastries, and sandwiches (more info on the real Blue Bottle here). Expect more info to surface as they get closer to opening.
