The Brunz gets on the blog today to remind us all that waiters like to trick us into spending more money by highlighting the most expensive items on a menu, an amateurish yet common move: "I think his unbidden guidance represents a sort of up-selling that isn’t as quickly noticed as the aggressive promotion of specialty cocktails...the belligerent hawking of Brussels sprouts and whipped potatoes, the evangelism for dessert.
