The Shutter: Jig Is Up for Borough Food & Drink

New, 17 comments

Flatiron: Gael Greene reports the news—which we will remind you has been a long time coming—that Jeffrey Chodorow and Zak Pelaccio's year old Borough Food & Drink is finally giving up the ghost. It will be replaced by a restaurant from the owners of Almond and Almoncello on the Montauk highway: "Eric Lemonides, the energy and endearing charm up front at Almond in Bridgehampton and Almoncello in Wainscott and Jason Weiner, his cohort in the kitchen, finalized their deal Sunday to partner with the eternally optimistic Chod in what Eric sees as a kind of 'Pastis meets Harrison.' Entrees will range from $17 to $23." They hope to open in October. No word yet on how The Pelac is taking the news, but he has enough projects to worry about.
