Menu Historians

2008_07_lenus.jpgChow has a great "Obsessives" video up right now about menu historian and librarian at the New York Public Library Rebecca Federman and the library's 35,000 piece menu collection. She discusses the differences between menus in the early 1900's and menus now (they had more of a sense of humor then), shows off the menu from the inauguration of the Statue of Liberty (held at Delmonico's), and has every menu from a third class bill of fare for the Lusitania to the laminated menus of 1970's piece to modern day take out.
