EaterWire: Trellis DOH'ed Again, El Chod to Hit LA & Acapulco, and Deals for Cheapskates

ROOSEVELT ISLAND— Roosevelt Islander reports that one of the nabe's few restaurants, the Trellis Diner, has been shuttered yet again by the DOH: "This is a real shame. I know that Trellis receives much criticism by many residents but there are just as many who find the diner a welcoming place to sit, relax and catch up with friends and neighbors. Trellis is also open for early morning breakfast which I am told is of great benefit to early risers." [RI]

PROSPECT HEIGHTS— TONY has the news of a sweet deal this Thursday: "Red Hook’s Sixpoint Craft Ales is teaming with Clinton Hill’s Brown Betty Cafe to cook up a—beat this—$25 four-course meal with beer pairings and burlesque show on Thursday 17 at Prospect Heights’ pastie-twirling watering hole Barrette. Highlights include watercress and grilled-peach salad with Righteous Rye ale, shrimp-and-corn bisque with Sweet Action Ale..." [TONY]

MEATPACKING DISTRICT— From the PR flacks for STK: "This summer, STK is offering 50% off select bottles of wine and 50% off wines by the glass every Monday. Everything from a $69 bottle of Cakebread Cellars Sauvignon Blanc from Napa to a $325 bottle of Meritage Cardinale from Sonoma is half off. Whatever your wine preference may be—Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah or Cabernet Sauvignon- there is something for you." [EaterWire]

EL CHOD'S UNIVERSE— Cutty brings the news that Jeffrey Chodorow is expanding his Kobe Club empire even further: "...we're told by Chodorow's PR reps that he plans to open a Kobe Club in Acapulco later this year and one in Los Angeles in the future. The chef, who is said to be eager to compete with Wolfgang Puck's successful Cut, hasn't found a space in California yet." [Cutlets]
