Bruni writes a follow up to his original blog post (which was a response to Christopher Hitchens article) about the frustrations of having over-eager servers. And he gets personal: "When I waited tables more than 20 years greatest frustration was a table that didn’t need anything from me...I was something of a pest and sycophant, but a well-intentioned pest and sycophant, which has to count for something. And I bet some of the servers who grate on our nerves can be characterized the same way." [Diner's Journal]
