The Shutter Report: Silver Swan, Kai Kai, High Stakes Cheese Steaks, AJ's Pizza

1) Flatiron: We hear the sad news about Silver Swan via the Shutter Inbox: "Beloved German restaurant with great German food, large selection of beers and affordable prices – according to a waiter today, has been there for over 20 (?) years. He himself has been there for over 10. Big signs everywhere on windows that restaurant is closing and their last day is this Saturday, June 14th. Waiter did not know what business/restaurant would be replacing them." [Shutter Inbox]

2) East Village: We hear from a tipster and their website confirms that Avenue A Thai spot Kai Kai is closed: "You might already know this but I walked by Kai Kai in the EV last night and it was closed saying 'Thanks for your business the last 9-10 years, but they are closing'." [Shutter Inbox]

3) Park Slope Flatbush Ave's High Stakes Cheese Steaks has closed, and the Brooklyn Paper blames Bruce Ratner: "High Stakes Cheese Steaks, a perfect-for-pre-game fast-food joint on Flatbush Avenue at Dean Street, closed last week, 18 months after it opened in anticipation of the controversial construction project that was supposed to create 1,500 construction jobs annually over 10 years. Yet construction of the arena, which was once slated to be done by 2007, has not even begun." [Brooklyn Paper]

4) Forest Hills: Forest Hills blog reports that AJ's Pizza has shuttered...or is on a long vacation: "According to eyewitnesses, AJ's Pizza has indeed closed for good. No answer at speed dial mainstay 718-520-9018 and doors are locked this Tuesday evening....6/11 Update: Metal gates are indeed down, but some commenters are saying that they're taking a vacation."
