In the last month Tribeca restaurants Odeon and Duane Park opened up small ice cream stands outside their dining rooms just one block away from one another. The two week-old Odeon stand offers up homemade waffle cones and three homemade flavors of ice cream for $4. Steps away we now have the Duane Park rival, which opened just a few days ago. They serve about eight flavors of thick, melty gelato for $3 in the standard sugar cones. Odeon will clearly benefit from more foot traffic, but Duane has more variety. Will either contender win the summer-long Ice Cream Stand War, or will another player enter the fray? It's up to you Tribeca residents to decide.
