BruniBetting: Ago

New, 14 comments

Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Ago, Robert Deniro's new restaurant at the Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca. Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:

Zero Stars: 3-1 ??
One Star: 2-1
Two Stars: 6-1
Three Stars: 25-1
Four Stars: 1,000-1
The only question on the table this week is, ARE YOU READY, PEOPLE? Ago is goose train-eligible in that it's got famous owners, an absentee name chef, absurd reservations and seating policies, moody servers and food that waivers between good and inedible. When the ship goes off course here, it goes way off course. Plus, the fact that Richman steamrolled it does not bode well. The oddsmakers do feel that one star warrants the shortest odds on account of the place's reputation in Los Angeles and their not striving for culinary acrobatics. Bet as you wish, but we're at the station, waiting for the Goose Train Bruntastic to come barreling through.
