Eater Food Tour: Sunday's Brooklyn Flea

New, 3 comments

As a companion piece to the Times' $25 and Under review of the Brooklyn Flea, above we have a photo gallery food tour of all the fresh, packaged, and overall sweet offerings at the Sunday market. When Cutty reported that the Red Hook vendors were going to be at the Flea last Sunday, we figured it was a good time to check out the food landscape and feast on some tacos and huaraches. Sadly, those vendors were all but absent as only one elote stand came to represent. Besides that and a huge stand selling steak, salmon, and chicken sandwiches, savory options are scarce. If you have an unrelenting sweet tooth however, you'll find cupcakes, chocolates, waffles, and cannolis galore. Hopefully, for the good of the the Brooklyn rummagers and for the Red Hook vendors, the scene will be less dire in the coming weeks.
