UPPER WEST SIDE— A second branch of AQ Kafé, itself an offshoot of Scandinavian joint Aquavit, will open on Broadway and Central Park South. Per the press release: "AQ Kafé currently operates a midtown location on Park Avenue and is well known for its authentic and contemporary Scandinavian dishes...Its new location will boast a 2,000 square foot ground level and 1,000 square foot basement, within a multi-store complex that has been restored to their postwar grandeur." Let's hope the final product is more exciting than the renderings (above right). [EaterWire]

CARROLL GARDENS—Deep down we think Carroll Gardens' long awaited schmancy cocktail lounge Clover Club will never, ever, ever open. However, according to a tipster from the area, we're about a month out: "June 3rd. One of the bartenders at Flatiron lounge is moving over to there to be head bartender." [EaterWire]

NEW YORK CITY— Get ready New York. Tomorrow is the annual Free Cone Day at Ben & Jerry's across the city. Expect lines of upwards to an hour for your free Cherry Garcia. [B&J via Midtown Lunch]
