BruniBetting: Adour

New, 1 comment

Tomorrow, Frank Bruni reviews Adour, The Great Alain Ducasse's third attempt at a non-stinker in New York (previous failed attempts: ADNY and Mix). Today, the Eater oddsmakers have set the action as follows:

Zero Stars: 15-1
One Star: 10-1
Two Stars: 6-1
Three Stars: 3-1 ??
Four Stars: 7-1
To get started, a spoiler. Last week, Bruni slipped the following into his review of Chop Suey: "I knew that Chop Suey, which I’d visited before, wouldn’t give us a meal as proficient and pampering as the one we’d get at, say, Adour..." Dude likes. Other factors to consider include the chef's reputation and the critical response to the restaurant to date, which has been good to very good. In a very bad case scenario, the restaurant is going to get two stars, based on Ducasse's continued inability to really, truly grasp New York. But, that's unlikely, as is four stars, even if this is one of the top chefs in the world we're talking about. Eater's got three stars in this race.
